Welcome to my site.
Thanks for visiting my campaign site! I appreciate your interest in my candidacy for Colorado’s House District 32. This is an exciting year to run for office with the growing energy for change sweeping across the county, from Virginia to Massachusetts! This race is going to be a tough one, but with your support we can do it. Follow my campaign on Facebook. If you believe in my candidacy and want to see some common sense in Denver, then go to my Volunteer page and get involved. Please also consider donating to my campaign, so I can afford to reach all the voters of HD 32 with my message. Any amount helps!
I am running for office because I am upset with the ever-increasing government spending, taxes and burdensome regulations that are making it tougher for businesses to begin to hire and borrow again. If elected, I will work towards establishing a more effective and lower spending state government that has a positive impact on our economy. As Ronald Reagan famously said, “ Government is the problem, not the solution,” and I intend on taking that view to Denver.
Many politicians promise to deliver the moon to their constituents and end up unable to deliver even a single star. What I want you to know about me is that I intend on bringing three common sense principles to Denver, not three hundred empty promises.
- Applying Family Budget Principles to the State House: Many families across HD 32 are making hard decisions about their budget every day. Between massive layoffs and depressed home values, families have to make difficult decisions on where to spend their precious resources. The State Legislature is facing a similar budget crunch and needs to make the hard decisions that citizens are making. Just as families can’t invent new income, Denver shouldn’t try to create money from increased taxes and fees. Denver politicians are living in a parallel universe and its time to send someone with that family budget common sense to the Legislature to help clean up the mess.
- Creating an Environment that Encourages Small Business to Hire and Borrow Again: Small businesses account for almost three-quarters of all new jobs and it will be small business, not government bureaucrats that will lead us out of this dark period. Many small business owners that I’ve spoken with across the district have complained of confusion caused by government. They can’t afford to hire new workers or take loans out if they are unable to confidently predict the near future in terms of taxes and regulations. I oppose Governor Ritter’s tax increases through ending business tax breaks for the very businesses creating new jobs. Government can’t create jobs, it can only provide the environment for business to do so, and the current government has failed miserably on that account.
- Transparency: This third principle needs little explanation. Do you know what is going on in Denver on your behalf? If not, it’s probably not your fault. It’s your representative’s fault. I promise to post every vote I make on my website and hold regular public meetings in the district to convey to constituents how I am representing them. It’s when people don’t know what’s going on when the worst abuses and poor policy decisions are made. Major decisions are made in the legislature, and I intend on informing the voters of HD32 of the votes I cast on their behalf.
Thanks again for visiting my site. I hope you find the website both informational and interactive. This election can’t be won single-handedly—it’s going to take voters like you to make it happen.
